Hiking at high altitude in the Drakensberg was always going to be a challenge. | Experienced Guides for Experienced Hikers and Climbers.

As we summited Mafadi, South Africa’s highest mountain, the lack of oxygen at our high point made us gasp for air. My group were experienced hikers but exclaimed what rare beauty these mountains have. The views revealed Champagne Castle and Cathedral Peak to the north and Giant’s Castle to the south.
