The Durban University of Technology owns nine residences which are located around the Steve Biko campus and in central Durban. Alpine Road is situated at Overport approximately 8 km from the main campus and within walking distance of Brickfield Road Campus. It has a total capacity of 231 students both male and female in single sleepers. It has a capacity of 286 students in the following room profiles: 2-sleeper, 3-sleeper and 4-sleeper sharing rooms. It has a total capacity of 315 students with single and double sleepers. It accommodates 148 male and female students. This is a self-catering residence and has a capacity of 93 male and female, final year and post diploma/graduate students. The total capacity of the residence is 162 students both male and female. It has 2-sleeper and 4-sleeper accommodation.
